Oxford County manages a leading Waste Management program, consistently reaching top rankings for waste diversion in its class among Ontario municipalities. We collect garbage and recycling from roughly 26,000 households across its six participating municipalities co-collected in the same truck.
What's New
Waste Management Annual Reports |
Oxford County is required to report on all waste management facilities and operations annually to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change. Reports are first tabled and approved by Oxford County Council. Read the full waste management reports on the About Waste Management web page. |
Large Item Collection |
Oxford County’s Large Item Collection runs from April to July this year, with new routes added in the Town of Tillsonburg. Large Item Collection begins in the Town of Ingersoll (Zone 1) on Monday, April 3. Please have your items to the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday of your collection week to ensure pickup. Large Item Collection is intended for large items only; it is not a spring cleanup. Find out when Large Item Collection is happening in your neighbourhood, along with a complete list of acceptable and unacceptable materials on our Large Item Collection web page. |
Bag tags now available through the Wasteline app |
Oxford County residents can now purchase bag tags for curbside waste collection through the Wasteline app using a smartphone or other handheld device. As always, bag tags are also available for purchase online and at select retail locations across Oxford County. For more information, including a full list of retail outlets, please visit www.wasteline.ca/bagtags. Bag tag prices ($2 each) are the same online, via the app and at retail locations. Bag tags are HST-exempt, and vendors are not permitted to charge more than $2 per bag tag. Additional service fees when paying by debit or credit card may be applied in accordance with store policy regarding minimum purchases. Residents should notify Oxford County if a retail vendor overcharges for bag tags. |
Construction at Oxford County Waste Management Facility |
Construction is almost complete at the Oxford County Waste Management Facility, where crews have been working to install a second scale and a new scale house at the Salford Road site. Staff would like to thank customers for their patience throughout the construction period. The new 80' scale will improve traffic flow and reduce wait times. |
