Welcome

(Read By: Cheese Poet Laureate Shirley Lovell)

We welcome you to Ingersoll
The little town that has it all,
A place where industry can thrive
Yet keep our heritage alive.

A friendly place for all to shop.
A health care system at the top.
An indoor pool that's quite a site.
With rooms for folks to exercise.

There's baseball, tennis, but who'd think
A skating and a curling rink.
A theatre performing plays,
And paths to walk on sunny days.

The pipe band leading each parade,
A home where arts and crafts are made,
The Cheese Museum with antique stuff
To entertain the history buff.

With festivals for summer fun
Brining joy to everyone.
A Crier who announcements make,
A Poet too for pity sake.

It's, "State-of-Art", our new Town Hall,
Our Library outranks them all.
But best of all we're caring folk,
Who love to smile and share a joke.

These smiles have come, quite curiously,
From Ingersoll's quaint history.
While some may think we smile to please,
Yet we are simply saying "CHEESE".
