The Noble Cheddar
by John Davies
Nothing can beat a nice piece of cheese
With so many varieties your taste buds to tease
From common old cow or goat comes the milk
Or more exotic from yak and their ilk
For Dutch it is Edam in a round ball
For Italian the Parmesan is loved by them all
Caerphilly is a tasty Welsh delicacy
And the French really love a good chunk Brie
But of all these cheeses there's one that stands out
The most versatile of all without any doubt
So good it can be used in any recipe
The noble Cheddar is the best one for me

Fairyland
by C.L. Denton

Are you going to Dairy Fair?
Milk, butter, cheese of some kind
Remember me to a cow who lives there
For once she was a true cow of mine.

Have her make me a gallon of milk
Milk, butter, cheese of some kind
With meadows and pastures of silk
Then she'll be a true cow of mine.

Have her put it in yonder cup
Milk, butter cheese of some kind
Where it will only pour going up
Then she'll be a true cow of mine.

Send it to those in the city that dwell
Milk, butter, cheese of some kind
Send it by way of a ringing bell
Then she'll be a true cow of mine.

Have her find a place in the mines
Milk, butter, cheese of some kind
Where she can join the city grind
Then she'll be a true cow of mine.

If she tells me she can't I'll sigh
Milk, butter, cheese of some kind
Let me know at least she tried
And then she'll be a true cow of mine.

City living imposes impossible tasks
Milk, butter cheese of some kind
though not more than any city dweller asks
And I must know she is a true cow of our time.

Dear, when thou has found a place at last
Milk, butter, cheese of some kind
Come to me, my hand for to ask
For thou then art a true cow of mine.

A Cheese Whiz
by William Heslop

I never liked the taste of cheese.
It often made me wheeze and sneeze.
I've always asked the question why
they'd put that stuff on apple pie!

To hear kids drool, "I love it so."
Made me laugh from head to toe!
I then put words in to a song,
so join with me and sing along.

You'll know the tune that someone wrote.
Yes, you're right, "row, row your boat."
Are you all set? Let's go outside.
Make sure your mouth is open wide!

"Row, row, row your boat."
Those kids sure know this song!
Cause they love cheese and they don't sneeze.
Am I the one that's wrong?

"Row, row, row your boat."
One kid passed me a slice!
I took a bite and saw the light.
It really tasted nice!

"Row, row, row your boat."
I learned a thing or two.
I liked Gruyere and Cammenbert
but loved ole Lou Palou!
