A Special Season
By: Shirley Lovell
To walk along a snowy lane
On starry moonlit night,
Wrapped in stillness, clear and cold.
And bathed in gentle light.
The moon's reflection on the snow
Illuminates the distant hill.
No sounds intrude the solitude.
The sleeping world lies still.
The crystal air invigorates
Until the spirit glows,
With freshness and exuberance
From head to tips of toes.
Through spring-like youth is much preferred
With warm and vibrant rays,
Yet new rewards and pleasures wait
For winter's special days.
