The Sounds of Summer
By: Shirley Lovell
Savour Summer's sensuous sounds,
The chipping chirping chattering words
Of noisy, saucy busy birds.
From croaking chorus of amourous frogs,
To yipping yelping restless dogs,.
There's roller blade and roller skate
That whirring whispering whine they make,
And splishing, splashing in the pool
As kids cavort to keep their cool.
Softly sighing balmy breeze
Rustling, rippling lazy leaves.
Pitter patter gental rain
Thunder's rumbling rude refrain.
And droaning insects, squawking jays
The sounds of summers dreamy days.
