The Church was formed from the Wesleyan and Primitive Methodist Churches in 1883. The present building was constructed in 1876 with changes taking place in 1916, 1950 a major renovation took place, and in 1993 a new addition was added. In 1916, the charge became a two point charge with Washington United Church.

The Sanctuary has a seating capacity of 156 on the main floor and 50 seats in the balcony. We have a choir loft at the front of the sanctuary and a small room and secretary's office located off the sanctuary. There is a large entrance and lift plus Minister's office, a large meeting room and washrooms in new addition, plus a full usable basement complete with kitchen. We have a nice organ and piano as well as a new sound system. The church is wheel chair accessible. There is ample parking at the front and rear of the Church.

The Plattsville United Church currently serves approximately 110 families.
