Coming In
You must have an appointment to access archival materials. The Archives Committee of the Norwich and District Historical Society operates a selfserve genealogical/local history reading room. Volunteers will assist researchers in the use of the room. There is a daily charge of $3.00 to conduct research, or unlimited visits during regular hours with a $10.00 yearly membership. Regular hours are as follows:Please phone ahead as hours are subject to change. Appointments may be made for other times. Phone well in advance to arrange a time. Consultation with staff archivists regrarding access to the municipal archival holdings or custom conservation services by appointment only.
- Tuesday - Friday 10am-12pm
and 1pm-4pm- Winter months have reduced hours

Restrictions on Access: None Terms Governing Use and Reproduction:Access limited where original records are fragile. Most records have been microfilmed. Reproduction of documents will be provided at archivists' discretion, and at the requester's expense.RG2: County of Oxford.
Restrictions on Access: Documents containing personal information exempted from disclosure under Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFOIPPA) will not be made available except by Research Agreement. Terms Governing Use and Reproduction: Due to the unique and irreplaceable nature of archival records, their use must be supervised and handling policies enforced. The archivists reserve the right to restrict access to original documents, where microfilm or other facsimile exists, and to fragile documents.
