OVER 45 WORKSHOP

Join our FREE This free two-week workshop has been designed to assist the older worker to cope with job loss and to develop the skills necessary to obtain employment.

The first week will address some of the unique issues that the older worker encounters and identify the skills, information and attitudes they need to increase their self-confidence and move forward in their work search. Some of the topics include: coping with job loss and change, transferable skill identification, overcoming barriers to employment, career exploration and understanding the labour market.

The second week will teach participants how to use today's most popular computer software, including MS Word, Windows, Outlook and Internet skills enhancement.

  		• Coping with job loss and change

  		• Transferable skills identification
  		• Windows
  		• Career exploration & goal setting
  		• Internet skills enhancement
  		• Exploring the myths & barriers related to aging

  		• Strategies to overcome barriers encountered by the older job seeker
       
  		• Getting your experience to work FOR YOU in a job search
       
  		• Understanding the labour market

    Learn new skills in a supportive and fun atmosphere!
     
    Eligibility criteria: The workshop is available to anyone 45 years of age or older, residing in the Woodstock area, who are seeking employment.
    Referral Process: All eligible clients are encouraged to attend an information session prior to attending the two-week workshop. Please refer below to the following dates. The workshop will take place at the Job Finding Club, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
