 204 - Create Startup Hold
The purpose to create Startup Hold is to reduce the number of running applications in the background you do not require immediate access too. Examples of this are RealPlayer, QuickTime, Photo Loaders, MSN Messenger and the list goes on. Each one of these will take valuable Memory (RAM) space and they can cause your applications to slow down or HANG due to lack of memory..

Right click on and select Properties

When the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window opens

Select the Start Menu tab

Select the Classic Start menu button

Left click on the Customize... button

When the Customize Classic Start Menu window opens

Left click on the Advanced button

When the Start Menu window opens 

Left click on Programs to open the Programs window

 

Left Click on File and select New, Folder

Rename New Folder to Startup Hold

Close the Programs window

When the Customize Classic Start Menu reappears, left click on the OK button

When the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window reappears,

Select the Start menu button 

Left click on the Apply button

Left click on the OK button

Left click on the

Move your mouse to All Programs and to anywhere on the Programs Menu list

Right click and select Sort by Name

Left click on the

Move your mouse to All Programs and to Startup

Open Startup, and drag applications into Startup Hold

 

 

 91 - Find Out What Email Program A Person is Using
Right click on any message in your e-mail Inbox
Select Properties
Select the Details tab
Scroll to the bottom of the window
X-Mailer gives you the Email Program a person is using

Open Outlook Express
Left Click on Tools and select Options...
Select the Receipts tab
Set your window as shown here
Left click on Apply
Left click on OK

102 - Outlook Express - Make a Folder

Open Outlook Express

Left click on File and select Folder, New...    Ctrl+Shift+E

When the Create Folder window opens

Select the folder in which to create the new folder: i.e. it can be added to the Local Folders, or any Folder attached to the Local Folders or it can be a sub folder of a folder attached to the Local Folders.

In Folder name: type a name for your new folder.  

Left click on OK

Add your new Folder to the Outlook Bar

Right click on the Outlook Bar and select New Outlook Bar Shortcut

When the New Shortcut window opens

Under Add this folder to my Outlook Bar

Select My New Folder

Left click on OK

My New Folder will now appear on your Outlook Bar

 

 

 104 - Outlook Express - Making Message Rules
Open Outlook Express

For this example, I have chosen to place all e-mail received from Avery into its own folder.

From the Inbox, select an E-mail from Avery - DO NOT OPEN IT

Left click on Message and select Create Rule From Message...

When the New Mail Rule window opens
Note the selected (1.) Conditions and (2.) Actions 
(3.) Select Move it to the specified folder
When the Move window opens, select Avery
Left click OK to close the Move window
(4.) Type in the Name of the rule:
Left click OK to close the New Mail Rule window
Left click OK again to acknowledge and close The rule was successfully added. 

Note: The Move window has an option to create a New Folder

The Mail Rules are extensive and give you a dozen Conditions and a dozen Actions to help you control Spam, use unique folders for business, friends and family and to separate chaff from the grain

Open Outlook Express
Left click on Create... 
When the New Message window opens
Left click once in the data field
Left click on Insert and select Picture...
When the Picture window opens type in the Picture Source: or left click on the Browse... button to locate your picture and left click on Open
Enter message in the Alternate Text field
Left click on OK.
