142 - Printing Instructions


* 187 - Create an Address Data Base *
 

Start by opening OOo Calc
Click on Sheets 2 & 3 and delete them
Click on Sheet 1 and Rename it to My Addresses
The first row must be typed in as shown with no spaces (use under line/score) between words in same cell
Click on Format and select Cells...
Select the Alignment tab
Click on and set the Wrap text automatically
In the upper left corner, right click on the number 1
Click on Optimal Row Height...
Click on OK
Please Note: Cells in Row 1 have been formatted two different ways, either of which is OK



Resize column width



Resize row height 

Placing your mouse pointer on the line separating the columns or rows will change the mouse pointer to a double arrow. When it does, you can click and drag the arrows to increase or decrease the size of the column or row. If you double click, the size of the column or row will automatically adjust to the size of the cell with the largest amount of data.
You should become familiar with all the ways of manipulating column and row sizing
Enter the necessary data in their proper columns.
Click on File and select Exit

 

When the small window opens and tells you "Untitled1" has been modified, click on the Save button
A window similar to below will open
The field for Save in: must be My Documents (if it isn't, click on the small arrow at the end of the Save in: field and select My Documents)

Save as type: Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP (.xls)

Click on the indicated Icon to Create New Folder
When you see New Folder, type in

Click on the Open button
Click in the File name: field and type in My Addresses
Scan the Save As window and it should be similar as shown below

Double check the Save in:, File name:, Save as type: and Automatic file name extension are all as above
Click on the Save Button
