There were  11 of us who attended. A silent prayer was said for all those poor people on the March break in the hot and blistering south when they could have been back home enjoying a beautiful day in the mid teens.

There were 2 new attendees, Lynda Williams and John Hollis. Welcome to the ISAC Computer Support Group.

3 - Burn Movie to DVD with Nero Vision

There are many versions and levels of nero cd/dvd burning software on the market with usually the most basic packaged with OEM.
It requires a few hours of reading the manuals (difficult for men)
Use DVD rewritable disks to become familiar with the tasks you are about to begin.
When a new window opens, discover the Help button and use it.
What is the source of video you want to burn?
The best is digital recording video via USB from camcorders and digital cameras.
Analog recorders require the right hardware to capture video similar to TV, 8mm or VCR.
Minimum System Requirements
Windows® XP (SP2 or higher)
Intel® Pentium® or AMD® Athlon® 1.4 GHz or higher (2.4 GHz or higher recommended)
512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended)
DirectX® 9 or higher compatible graphics card with 64 MB (ATI® Radeon® or NVIDIA® GeForce™ 3 or higher with 128 MB or higher is recommended)
DirectX 9 or higher compatible sound card (Creative® Audigy® or M-Audio® recommended)
1 to 4 GB of disk space to install software
1 PCI slot
DVD recordable drive to install software and burn disks
It is recommended to use a separate high speed HDD (7200 rpm) to just hold movie files/clips

128 - Send Large Messages

If the receiver is on dial-up, forget it. They will not appreciate the inconvenience, especially if they are on a limited monthly rate of time and download capacity. Set up a web site with Picasa for your pictures. Set up a web site with your ISP for your messages and let your family and friends decide whether they wish to peruse.

  1. Open M$ OE
  2. From the Tools menu, select Accounts
  3. Select the Mail tab.
  4. Select your mail account.
  5. Click the Properties button.
  6. Select the Advanced tab.
  7. Place a check in the Break Apart Messages Larger Than ___ KB check box.
  8. In the Break Apart Messages Larger Than ___ KB text box, type the size limit you want.
  9. Note: The default size is 60 KB, which is a good choice. Click OK.
  10. Click the Apply button
  11. Click the OK button

141 - Print Black Only

  1. With many thousands of different printers available, the first step is to use your printer's Properties and search for spot to select something similar to Print Black Only

  2. Select each available Tab and become familiar with the options available

  3. Use the small ? in the upper right corner for more detail of a particular available option.

  4. Use the Readme or Help function for you printer.

  5. Use the internet and link to the manufacturer of your printer and click on Support

  6. Install your printer twice, one for colour and the other for black only.

146 - Stop Printer from Printing

  1. Because data travels to printers so quickly, stopping a print job can be surprisingly difficult.

  2. Remove all paper from the input tray and you should get some kind of Paper Feed error where you can Cancel Printing.

  3. If the program you are printing from has a cancel button, try to click it before it disappears.

  4. Otherwise, look for a printer icon in the System Tray and double-click the icon to bring up a list of print jobs.

  5. Right-click the entry for the errant print job, click Cancel, and click Yes.

  6. Or you can click on Start and select Printers and Faxes

  7. Right click on the printer with the document/s outstanding

  8. Click on Cancel All Documents

  9. Often, the print job goes to the printer before you have a chance to cancel it in Windows, in which case you need to press the printer's cancel button.

  10. If it doesn't have one, the only option is to turn the printer off, wait for several seconds, and then turn it back on again.

  11. Depending on the model, this may not even be enough, and you may need to use the printer's built-in menu system.

  12. Last, unplug it from the wall to erase the pages from memory.
