On behalf of the Ingersoll Ontario Provincial Police detachment and Community Sergeant Glyn Parsons, we are looking for new members from the Town of Ingersoll to re-establish the Ingersoll Community Oriented Policing Partners committee (ICOPP) that has been at a stand still for the last couple of years.

It is a volunteer committee that provides information to the public from items such as police statistics, presentations by guest speakers, etc and also provides a method for the public to voice their concerns on items they feel are important and may need addressing with respect to the Ingersoll OPP. Representatives from the OPP are also in attendance at these meetings.

We partner with police to identify and resolve community issues together.

We provide education and awareness.

We provide feedback to the public.

We provide feedback to the OPP on

community perceptions.

If you know of someone who would be willing to join the committee on their own or to be a representative of your group to attend these meetings and/or is willing to take on a board position, please have them contact me via phone or e-mail.

(Selected volunteers for a board position or committee position will be subject to a criminal records check.)

We will hold an initial meeting to get organized in the near future once we have a list of interested people.

Sincerely,
Rick Debackere
Chair,
