Local history facts
1825- 1st hotel built within a few years by Lewis
Charles.
1836 - First Post Office opened May 6th.
1850 - Princeton receives its first pharmacist.
1853 - The Great Western Railway comes to Princeton.
1858 - Dr. Daniel Clark had a medical practice in
Princeton, traveled by horse and was appointed the Superintendent of
the asylum in Toronto. The famous "Clarke Institute" is named
after him.
1862 - Three hotels in Princeton.
1866 - Disastrous fire-wipes out an entire business block.
