I am new to this site with many thanks to a generous person trying to help me in my quest. My family - Matthew & Janet Findlay (G.G.'s)and all their children including my Grandpa, Matthew Jr. I have been trying to find information on Margaret to see if she may have married. So far, other than my Grampa, it appears that none of the Findlay "children" married. Seems somewhat odd for a family with 5 children. I have been searching to see if there is any chance there are any living relatives in Ontario. I am from British Columbia. The person responsible for this site deserves accolades. WELL DONE!!!

I love this site and have found lots of good information here. Thanks for all you do for us who are hooked on family research.
I am looking for information on the STOVER family of Norwich. My grandmother was Phoebe Jane Stover, daughter of Egbert Stover and Electa ?. Phoebe married Thomas HUNTER in Norwich and they later settled in Dalton, Victoria. They had at least two children born in Norwich, James HUNTER and Sarah Ida Ellen HUNTER. I have found Phoebe and parents in the 1861 census in Norwich and found some of Phoebe's siblings from that census but I feel fairly sure there were more children.
My other family connection to Oxford County is the BIGHAM/BINGHAM family, originally from Ireland to the US to Canada. They settled in York, Ontario but several of the brothers of my other grandmother Sarah Bigham/Bingham moved to Oxford. Sarah married James HUNTER b in Scotland and settled in the York/Peel area of Ontario. She was the mother of Thomas HUNTER.
Would love to hear from any researchers of STOVER, BIGHAM/BINGHAM and HUNTER lines.
Thanks, Penny Tucson, AZ USA

Could someone who lives in Ingersoll look up in the city directory or phone book for a Peter Dale or Mrs. Donald McKay or Harry C. Dale. They may have information regarding the Whaley famiy that once lived in Ingersoll in the 1830's.
Thanks

John GREGG of County Sligo, Ireland met and married Ellen HUDSON in Hamilton. Some children were born in Ancaster, Ontario. Then they and the Thomas HUDSON family moved to Dereham Township in 1838.
The Gregg family celebrated 70 years in Dereham in 1908 with a formal picture. They celebrated 100 years July 4, 1938. At that time a booklet of the family story with genealogy was prepared by an unknown author.
I have many pictures of this family and share them on the above URL. Joyce Groves

This site is a blessing to anyone with an Ingersoll search area. It is ideal for me with my husband's side being south of Ingersoll and my father's side being to the north in East Nissouri and West Zorra. I run a site through Yahoo for the McCorquodale family from Argyllshire Scotland who settled along the Townline of West Zorra and East Nissouri.
I am presently working on the cemetery were my oldest ancestors were buried, lot 11/14. East Nissouri. The names include MCCORQUODALE, MCCALL, MCCAUL, MCARTHUR, MORRISON, MCKAY, MITCHELL, STEPHENSON and 2 couples by the name MCDONALD and one MCDONALD wife.
The children of Captain John McDonald and Jane Esrkine moved to Ingersoll and their son John was mayor of Ingersoll. Joyce Groves
