I am researching the DUNCOMBE family. I understand that Dr. Charles Duncombe was a member of parliament for Oxford - Ingersoll in the 1830's. Dr. Duncombe eventually went on to lead the rebels in 1837 in the Scotland area of Brant County. I do not understand why he would have represented Oxford county in the Upper Canada Parliament when he lived in the Burford Township area. If any one can help me understand this I would appreciate the assistance. Michael Ball mdball@sympatico.ca

Looking for any information about the Cunningham/Force families in Oxford County around 1816. Joshua married Margaret Force at her father's home (Noah & Mary Force), March 14, 1816, Oxford County, C.W. The 1850 U.S. Census of Indianola, Iowa, lists Joshua, Margaret, and children; Nelson, Noah, Almeda, Jeremiah, and Mary Jane, all born Canada. Thank you!

This site has helped me so much in finding my family in Oxford County, Ontario. Your doing a great job. I just noticed, comments I made in April 12, 2005 at 6:28 pm, I said that Nathan P Allen was my gggg-grandfather, but I hit the g key one to many times. I am the ggg-granddaughter of Nathan P Allen, of East Nissouri, Oxford County, Ontario. Have a great day :) Teri
