This is a reminder that East Nissouri Township has a committee working on a History Book for the township. This is a massive project and help is wanted for collecting information on topics such as churches, mills, villages, cheese factories etc. as well as the families by lot and concession.

I have been researching the history of the GILLESPIE family. Two brothers, Joseph and George and their children, came to Canada in the 1840s and settled in Oxford County. Some of the decendants are still in Oxford County but others moved on to such places and Bracebridge On, Kitchener On, Uxbridge On, Parkhill On, Granum Alta, High River Alta, Calgary Alta, and Vancouver BC. Records I have indicate the children married into the following families in the area, SMITH, BELL, MCLEAN, SIM, SUTHERLAND, THOMSON, WALTON,PATON and BUCHAN.
I would appreciate any leads you may have in tracking down the family tree.
