Staring into Space!
By Tyler James
August 10, 2002

Do you ever catch yourself just staring into space?

If you do, then you might be interested in taking a look at the Canadian Space Agency website at http://www.space.gc.ca. There you will find a lot of useful information about space! Plus there are fun things that have to do with kids that include Educator Resources, Special Projects, Spacy Bits and Pieces, Careers in Space, and of special interest to children, SpacePlayground.

As a federal government web site, this site is available in both French and English.

If you have any questions about the Canadian Space Agency, or CSA, there is a link that leads you to a page with more links which include, but are not limited to, CSA Organization, CSA Contacts, Careers. Everyday Benefits for You, Success Stories, FAQ's, Hall of Fame, plus many more! I chose to go to FAQ's and click on Space Science! Here I found some interesting questions and answers, hence the FAQ, which tell the viewer what the CSA is all about!

While in the "kidspace" link, I went to educator resources! Here I found that you could borrow books and videos on the CSA, view resources for activities to do which students, and more! I also went to Space Playground. Of course, providing that the link says playground, there would be games and other activities for kids! And that was just what I found! Other than games, there was a 'Poems' link where you could see poems written by other young Canadians, or you could write your own!

Some of the games included are, but not limited to, 'Find a Word', 'Build the International Space Station with Canada's Robotic Arm', 'Space Quiz', 'Canadarm2 Game', and 'Moon Pong!' I found that most of these games are interactive with the player, so anybody who wants to have a little fun, whether you are 3, 5, 10, 13 years old or just easily amused, then these games may be for you!

In short, the CSA website has practically everything to do with space! Anybody wanting to learn about space or how the CSA works, then go to the CSA website!!! (http://space.gc.ca)
