Oxford County is the permanent home of Canada's Outdoor Farm Show, this year to be held September 11, 12 and 13.

When planning your trip to the show, get the latest information by checking out its web site, http://www.outdoorfarmshow.com.

Featured family programming includes Ross and Eve Daily on family farm transfers, Jennifer Moore on gardening and Dr. Gord Surgeoner on future world markets of medicine, ethanol/biodiesels, citric acid and more.

Admission costs are provided on the front page. A site map, directions, accommodations information and information from last year's show are provided on pages linked to the main page.

The second large scale "in the field" farm show is the Rural Expo 2001. Better known as the International Plowing Match (IPM), this show was first held in 1911.

Rural Expo is held in a different location each year and will be held this year at Navan in eastern Ontario. Information can be obtained from the web
site http://www.ipm2001.com/ .

Like the Outdoor Farm Show web page the IPM site includes directions and accommodations information for visitors to the show. One handy feature on the IPM site is a list of "Quick Facts" with everything from hours and site information for seniors to schedules.

IPM boasts 800 exhibitors housed in over 1,000,000 square feet of tents in the famous tented city. Over the years IPM has retained its reputation for plowing competitions and has become known for its cultural aspects. Educational workshops, entertainment and antique and historical displays are featured. In addition to farm machinery, this year's show includes 200 acres of woodlots and ponds with conservation tours and displays.

If you are planning to attend one of Ontario's out-of-doors farm shows, get akll the information you need to plan your visit by visiting their web sites.
