"Harmony Central"
November 4, 2000
Wm. Lucas Gladding

The Internet is a great resource for finding all kinds of musical information. While many sites target the music fan, few target musicians. Harmony Central (http://www.harmony-central.com) is an excellent site for any aspiring musician. It offers reviews on drum kits, guitars, keyboards, and other musical equipment. It is kept up-to-date with the latest product announcements across the industry. Additionally, the site features forums and chat rooms in which musicians can converse.

Music is constantly changing and evolving. Harmony Central addresses this fact. Links to sites dealing with music theory, lessons, and other learning materials are provided. There are too many links to list, but anyone interested in learning an instrument should visit the site.

Guitar tablature is easily found all over the Internet, including on the Harmony Central web site. There is also a percussion section of the site contains links to several drum-related sites. One of the featured sites, the Drum Tab Archive, can be found at http://www.crosswinds.net/~alcoholica/. The site contains more than twelve hundred tabs. If the archive does not have the song you are looking for, there is a request section.

The Classified section in Harmony Central is free and accepts advertisements that are stored in a large archive. The archive's subject matter is the characteristic that makes it unique. All ads concern bands or individuals looking for artists with which to play. By browsing the archive, any musician can find fellow musicians in his or her local area. Your first step to fame and fortune could be visiting Harmony Central!
